"Many thanks for putting in the hard yards for us on the South Alligator River. I'll never forget this fish, my first metre barra from Nourlangie creek - and neither will anyone else as I don't stop talking about it!

Darren, as long as you are guiding I would not consider using anyone else and reccomend you to anyone interested in catching big barra in beautiful surrounds."

Roly's Barramundi Experience!!!

I'm not much on words but Darren, you stand to be congratulated on your professionalism and also on the tolerance that you showed to a complete novice in the art of Barramundi fishing.

I will not forget the moment that I hooked into that first fish at the mouth of the river. What a thrill! Thirty five odd years of fishing and never been near a Barramundi. I was frightened that it was just going to jump off. After all, the discussion we'd had on how hard the mouth was and on how easy they could throw a lure.

A big sigh of relief when that monstrous fish (in my eyes), was safely landed in the boat. Things just got better, fish after fish on the barrage was just a bit of practice for the next day when I caught the biggest fish I have ever managed to land in my total fishing life! 7 kilos of mean fighting machine and the picture to show it. Thanks Darren!

We had 4 blokes’ fish 5 days with Darren on the South Alligator River. It was only his second charter here and we still caught plenty of fish.

All up we boated between 25 to 30 barra and lost more than that.

The highlight of the trip for me was my Dad catching his best fish. He had hooked and lost good fish the same size or bigger nearly every day and it wasn’t until the last day and about half an hour before we had to leave for home that he hooked another good fish. After a good fight it was landed, measured and released. It went 97cm and would have been the heaviest fish of the trip. Darren was happy to see Dad finally land a big fish after seeing him lose so many in previous days.

In the last hour before leaving we boated Dad’s fish, 1at 88cm, lost another big fish, and had to leave them on the bite, already going over time by about an hour.

The best fish for the trip was 98cm (12kg) 2 at 97cm, 1at 88cm and the rest ranged between 60 and 78cm.

It was a great trip and I recommend it to anyone that wants to catch a Barra.

It’s a very well run operation, right from the first email with all questions answered, to the final day being dropped back to our motel.

To Darren and Sharon you are a credit to your industry.

Thanks again!

I didn't know what to expect but the food and location was as good as you could wish for. Darren did his utmost to put us in the right place at the right time....he catches fish and that's what you're there for! It's good to time the trip for 7m tides. The bigger the tides the bigger the fish! It's the way to go... with a professional. He's got a great outfit which gave us an experience I would recommend to anyone who likes to put a line in the water. I was happy as a lark and full of adrenalin. I have never been so excited about showing my photos! Darren and Sharon even organised for us to bring some of our catch home.
